CV - Alejandra Herrero
Alejandra is an Agronomy Engineer and earned a specialization of University Teaching and Educational Practices of Politics, Science, and Technology at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is also an associate Professor at UBA. She serves as President (2006-2014) and Academic Coordinator of Higher Education at CLAYSS (Centro Latinoamericano de Aprendizaje y Servicio Solidario). Alejandra has been invited as a guest professor at universities in the United States, Canada, and Spain. She has a history of participation in diverse international projects regarding the investigation management of rural water systems. She was awarded a Presidential Award in Individual Education Practices in Higher Education in 2004 for the project Water for All and for All (AGUA PARA TODOS Y PARA TODO). The project was a university level project that promoted solidarity and regional development. Alejandra was a Finalist for LA NACIÓN newspaper prize for excellence in Agriculture and Livestock in the category of Best Educator in the year 2004. She is an investigator and consultant regarding water and the impact of cattle on the environment and water. She has more than 130 published articles and presentations to congress. She is an editor and author of six books regarding similar themes as well; her most recent being, Animal Production and the Environment: concepts, interactions, and research.
